The index is the first page of the comic, and it just takes you to the index when you hit last. I had to click through the whole thing to get to the latest page.

That was deliberate. I decided that anytime I need to do a multiple-page update -- which could conceivably happen if there are multiple extra updates for a single Tuesday -- I would place the first page of the batch on the index page, rather than the last. Seemed like it might prevent mild spoilers that way.

On the other hand, I should have remembered to change the link on the "last" button -- good catch. I'll try to remember next time.

Now that the site's had its first official update (woooooo . . .), you should see page six on the main page, instead of page one. If you don't, well, that would be a problem!

That's why I was bringing it up, because it was after the first update. I think linking the first page to the first of the group is a very good idea.

Huh. Are you still seeing the first page on the index page, instead of the sixth? I know I got the HTML right when I coded it, since I double-checked several times, and it worked right on my computer. It's possible it just needed a hard refresh, on yours?

Well, that's good to hear. I guess it probably just needed a good refresh. I've seen that happen with Allison's site occasionally, so it's not unreasonable it might happen with mine!
